Lisbon
The most westerly Capital
of Europe, Lisbon lies on the Atlantic coast where explorer
Vaso da Gama set sail on his great voyages to discover the
Americas. Lisbon is situated on the mouth of the river Tagus.
This city is blessed with varied interests and even boasts
two excellent suburban beach resorts of Cascais and Estoril.
Youll find the welcome very warm in this intriguing city of hidden treasures.
A trip to Lisbon would not be complete without a visit to the Belem Tower, Castelo
de Sao Jorge (Lisbons ancient fortress), The Alefama district with its
picturesque narrow streets and excellent seafood bars and restaurants. A well
worthwhile trip is to see Europes largest oceanarium located in the Park
of Nations, which in fact was the former Expo 98 site.
